Connectivity could be poor along with slow speeds from 07:00, causing issues for households trying to get online.
Openreach engineers replaced cables at Aberhosan, Powys, but it did not fix the problem so they had to think again.
They then switched to a monitoring device and found the fault was due to electrical interference emitted by a householder's second-hand television.
The owner, who does not want to be identified, was "mortified" to find out their old TV was causing the problem, according to Openreach.

Arrrgh, we all had forgotten to tell the young @crocket ("5g induces Covid and Cancer") that for half a hundred years we had a wild emitter at our couches watching TV.

There is a thread in the Gentoo chat forum where ppl were dismissing EMI as a concern. It was like I was the only voice of realism. Maybe it is because I have had to deal with susceptibility as well and mitigate what my units emit (radiated and conducted) and that I have over 20years of experience in this that I proceeded to headdesk.

In short, don't underestimate EMI and when you are told to put your mobile onto flight mode, there are reasons

It's normally terrorists, with either an English or German accent. According to the movies.

Multivibrator -> Amplifier -> Transformer - > Antenna

This simple montage for educational use will give you one of the best EMI generator you can find. A multivibrator will output a square wave with a lot of harmonics. The transformer is the high tension one from an old TV set. A simple wire as antenna. Simple and effective.
