Hi,

having trouble getting the tv-stick mentioned in the title to work, although the linuxtv wiki suggests that it should be supported since the release of the 5.7 kernel branch. Once I could change to the newer kernel being restricted by the proprietary nvidia drivers, I gave it a try but it did not work, because the demodulator chip hasn't been recognized correctly, I suppose:
Code:

[    5.700191] usb 3-2: dvb_usb_v2: found a 'Terratec Cinergy S2 Rev.4' in warm state
[    5.700212] usb 3-2: dvb_usb_v2: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer
[    5.700215] dvbdev: DVB: registering new adapter (Terratec Cinergy S2 Rev.4)
[    5.701431] usb 3-2: dvb_usb_v2: MAC address: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
[    5.702094] m88ds3103 0-0068: Unknown device. Chip_id=7f
[    5.702173] usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_dvbsky

Today I had another look at the wiki article, where found lines like this
Code:
 dw2102: su3000_identify_state

I searched my /usr/src/linux directory for dw2102 and actually found the following files:
Code:

./drivers/media/usb/dvb-usb/dw2102.c
./drivers/media/usb/dvb-usb/dw2102.h

By running make menuconfig I figured out that the dw2102 driver hasn't been selected so far, but there seems to be no option to build it.

Why is that? How can i enable it?

Any hint will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Andreas

If you build them as modules a make; make modules_install and make install should to the trick. Don't forget to reboot.

Ok, got it: I had to enable the rc_core module in order to be able to see the required option.
