I have accumulated technical and news articles for my personal archive, but the numbers have
grown rather large so I need to find some mean by which I can search them quickly top read or share.
That has led me to needing some sort of database, but I have no clue where to start and what would work
best.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Currently I simply name articles based on the source and date.
That, of course, does not provide an efficient and quick way to access a title.

Again I would appreciate suggestions.

TIA

EDIT: The articles are news articles, many on political issues national and international.

You can use something like CherryTree or Zim wiki, if you want GUI and not particularly into tinkering and building something yourself.
Another option is Emacs with org-rifle, deft, fzf, or anything similar (fuzzy search through your notes). The main advantage is that everything is in a plain text and can be accessed from any device any time in the future, ASCII text will remain as such even in year 2050 (which is important, you don't want to lose your entire DB because of corruption, or deprecation of your application/service). The disadvantages: takes time to configure and come up with your management system (do you want many files with names as categories, or giant file with categories as headings, how will you manage cross references within your system outside links etc.), another disadvantage is very limited rich text options (actually there are none, because it's plain text), org-mode can only make few visual emphasis like bold, italic, underline. Images are supported if you run emacs with graphics.

SQLite is super easy to set up and use. If you want to try a database without too much hassle, install it, and follow a quick tutorial. I'm not sure how useful it would be to put articles in a database, with title and date stored, but it wouldn't be hard to try and find out how well it works.

Much appreciated.
