For those familiar with cellular automatons and gliders (someone has one as their avatar!), the inventor of the Game of Life has passed away 11Apr2020 due to complications from COVID-19.

Not a reference, but a tribute: https://xkcd.com/2293/

Yeah, I haven't seen anything about it. I loved F/X and F/X 2 when I was a kid. And Police Academy brought me to Cocoon

The big record companies could make a Black man like Richard into a mainstream star because he seemed "harmless" to White guys.

I don't think so. His bi-sexual orientation was public early on. Rather Elvis was an answer to be harmless ...

It was because Richard was gay that he was not a threat. Black Mandingo might steal away Joe from Nebraska's girlfriend, but Little Richard was harmless. Elvis, on the other hand WAS seen as a threat to society, with his suggestive lyrics, hip gyrations, and playing n****r music. He was burned in effigy, the Catholic Church dioceses in the US denounced him, and J. Edgar Hoover (the James Comey of the day) had the FBI investigate Elvis.

@Old School, thanks for this one, you are right: I totally lost track there on the racial issues and I only remember the late Elvis of the romantic pictures.

I don't much about Jerry other than his roles in Seinfeld and King of Queens. Mostly the same role, but he did it so well.
