I just want to post this one. Just binge watched Lucifer ( I find a new take on the concept of ). Netflixering worst in last season 4.
But I like it, and this song has stuck on me. An old beaten up song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kvz1Hoyd5m4 (Ready for the Devil)

Thanks for the tip.

lol @ "On March 8, 2020, Apple posted a video showcasing her saying "M-Y-R-E-C-O-R-D-I-S-D-O-N-E" in American Sign Language."

C-A-N-T-W-A-I-T-T-O-H-E-A-R-I-T

EDIT: Well, I prefer her earlier work. Sounds a bit too much in the demo stage for my ear.

Background and recording wrote:
They began recording in Apple's Venice Beach home studio, using home-made percussive objects and chanting as they marched around the house. They spent three weeks at the Sonic Ranch studio in rural Texas, with little success. Upon returning to Venice Beach, they began making progress, with Apple recording long takes consisting of instruments being hit against surfaces and objects. Apple's vocals were unedited, and the album developed a highly percussive sound.
I did like her vocals. I thought there was something different about them.

I did learn that unless I put it in a box, I don't already have Idler Wheel. Will have to add that to the upcoming shopping list.

Might be worth a read for the interested: Fiona Apple's tragic real-life story Given the opening paragraph, I'd say the author seemed to be present their story with sympathetic honesty (I'm presumig it to be accurate).

Please, do not feel sorry for me. And believe me, I do believe in a christian god. It cannot be undone without war...and before I go - I hope you (woups) learned-ed something.
Next thing I want to say, I am an idiot - Learn from your feelings. I do not want to hurt you, that's why I do this.
So be my enemy!! Best feeling I can see here. Scrutinise me. Fucking hate me. Do your worst. The best thing for me is, I can only learn from it.
With that said, I have no emotions towards you. I am sorry. Just like my loneliness as it is.
EDIT: As far as I can see, your emotion is where it is. Just mine is not. Had my fair share before you about that one on the net.
For me - I need to feel connected before I commit. Like genes or some shit. That means physcal needs to see what I get and then make my own judgement. And - Who cares, right?
This romance has to stop.

Final thing; You are way too intelligent for me. I mean warpspeed. And if you know it, Few males wants that. So hate me.

The good thing is, I won't change.
Not perfect, but I feel it to be ok : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbHYyPdQfqk

Learning about Fiona Apple's new album reminded me about one I'd lost track of being released.

In hearing about some of how it was being made / produced, I was a bit anxious about how it would turn out.

I've liked all 9 of her other albums, so here goes... Pearl - Heather Nova.

EDIT:
Well, I like it.
Quote:
Nova stated that there is a correlation between both Oyster and Pearl, saying
“A pearl is hopefully what forms inside an Oyster after all the years."
Oyster probably had the advantage then of her being new to me, so I don't think I can go as far as to say it would be the pearl from an oyster, but I liked it. I suppose some might say an oyster is prettier than its pearl. Tastier too.

Thanks for the tip.

It is not an easy listen. Many tempo changes, unusual instrumentation, strange vocals.

I didn't think the vocals were that strange. Well, a couple of times. The dolphin imitation and something else I forget. But otherwise fairly standard from what I'd expect of her. But I also like Some Bjork and a lot of Tori Amos. For me, it wasn't so much the changes or instrumentaiton. I liked a lot of that. But there was something about it that seemed ~20% from a finished product. The closest thing I can think of in comparison would be the hatchett job Tarantino did with the (intentional) editing of Pulp Fiction. Somewhat surprising as I strongly like all of her other studio albums.

I continued to hope he'd have even a brief resurgence up until he died.

John Denver talks about Jacques Cousteau and Sings Calypso

Not mentioned there, but he apparently gave the royalties from Calypso to the Cousteau organization. I believe it was mentioned in the 2015 documentary John Denver: Country Boy DVD. IIRC, it was Cousteau's son commenting that the checks were very large, and at the time he was interviewed, they were still fairly sizable royalty checks. I don't recall if it mentioned when he was being interviewed.

Kind of like the sound of Neil Young and Crazy Horse. They go for that "recorded in the garage with a lot of distortion on a 4 track recorder" sound.

Deep Dark Robot - Fuck You, Stupid Bitch

I certainly prefer her earlier material, but that is a bit catchy. They have a couple of other decent songs.
