How long until outright oppression?

Quote:

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam has said she will withdraw the highly controversial extradition bill which has triggered months of protests.
The proposal, introduced in April, would have allowed criminal suspects to be extradited to mainland China.

Until now i did not know about this bill.

do you want to say that democrats will try to exile US citizens to China if they do not agree with Chinese regime?

Today we learn Hongkong is sold by the american president for the sake of his own fate.

May Peking do what it wants, nothing compares to the importance of a Trump reelection in 2020.

May there be Freedom of Speech, Law and Order or not in Hongkong, nothing compares to the importance of a Trump reelection in 2020.

This way all the many people in this forum who severely have Trump Arrangement Syndrom will be able to sleep well further. Good night.

Ehm, so what are the action items here? Should more tariffs be levied? Should sanctions be enacted? Should the U.S. send a B-2 and bomb something?

Holding Law and Order and Freedom of Speech in Hong Kong as a bargain for trade most probably levies the next generation islamist terrorists and will cost lives ...
On the contrary everyone was hoping a trade deal with China would move the biggest country other directions slightly. It could have made Trump a hero of history.

Inside the protest. This report gives some clue about generational devides in Hong Kong.

My Question:
Weren't there enough lessons throughout history that violent protest fires back at some end?
When observing violence in Hong Kong I ever thought of agent provocateurs sent from Bejing.
I cannot understand ... sad

Young people in Hong Kong risking their freedom and lives for a sense of freedom and relief from a totalitarian government, while young people in the West are violently fighting for less freedom and and more government control of their lives.

A deal is a deal. Unless you're referring to 1898, that is.

Not so fast. Here's a good breakdown:

Molotov was Alexander Scriabin's uncle.

Back to Hong Kong, this is terrifying. China is a disgusting country. Reeducation camps, the constant raping of Tibet since the mid 20th century, the organ harvesting of the "undesirables", the neutering of minority females (Tibetan, Uyghur), the absolute suppression of anyone questioning the communist party... even though that very same communist party ADMITTED that communism is failure and had to implement market reforms to keep their country from starving.

China uses capitalism to fuel its communist despotism. Japan, South Korea, and the USA stupidly do business with this hellish regime. Any factory built in china is just a pipeline to steal technologies.

Stop doing business with China

The universities in Hong Kong have become war zones. Roaming gangs of communist thugs are raping, beating, and killing the people of Hong Kong.

I'm absolutely disgusted by all of this.

That's almost impossible. Which puts the complaints about SA in an awkward light. I limit what I can, but country of origin is not usually available and there are often no alternatives.

yeah the slit eyes burn people alive for speech crimes

https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/law-and-crime/article/3037243/hong-kong-father-two-burned-alive-after-chasing

Quote:
It is more than anything else to show the connections with the protest of a time that was firmly in the hands of the then adolescent and now 22-year-old Joshua Wong, the skinny puppet of a much bigger and more powerful theatrical performance that, passing through the occult director CANVAS, as today as that time. Officially it is the Center for Applied Non-Violent Action and Strategy, in fact it represents a control room created by the CIA in the Balkans and supported by various US agencies to ignite the fuse of regime-change around the world, with the occasional help of allies Israeli Zionists and Sunni Muslims in the Middle East.

hehehe that borders fake news,
you know hong kong was a colony and elections were just a joke. Under the old electoral system 1/3 of seats were assigned by elections, 1/3 directly nominated by wealthy people of HK and 1/3 nominated by the british .... democratic election was just a joke, now they transitioned to slightly different system and 1/2 of the seats are assigned by popular election and 1/2 are nominated by Peking.
https://www.yearbook.gov.hk/2003/english/chapter01/01_05.html

Also According to Wikipedia the pro democracy camp got 388 of 458 seats (84%) with 57% of the votes, in other cases the press would be crying 'THAT'S GERRYMANDERING' ....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elections_in_Hong_Kong

Where are the good democratic souls pontificating that also the 43% of the persons in HK that did not vote for the "democratics" have the right to be listened?
