Perhaps a 250t Euro fine for american trooper in Bavaria/Germany
SZ with Google Translate wrote:
The 26-year-old had returned from vacation in Greece at the end of August, according to the Garmisch District Office. It remains to be seen whether she brought the virus with her or not until she returned to Germany. However, according to the district office, she is said to have quickly plunged back into the local nightlife - apparently despite symptoms of illness. Last Tuesday, the woman had herself tested for these symptoms and was quarantined until the results were received, the authority said. Nevertheless, she went to a Garmisch cocktail bar on the same evening - and still without a test result - and probably infected several guests.
Of the roughly three dozen confirmed new infections, 24 occurred at the Garmisch "Edelweiss Lodge and Resort", a vacation and recreation facility of the US armed forces, which is essentially only accessible to active and former US soldiers and their families. The 26-year-old who is an American citizen herself works there and is now suspected of having infected numerous colleagues as a "super spreader".
Garmisch is a famous tourist attraction in the alps. All tourists returned home, the village is in lock down now.

Projections: What do you all think?

https://covid19-projections.com/

and

IHME https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

They seriously don't match.

Old JB, he's always wanted the state to start tracking him, just tried to access this app - not sure how ? Do I ring somebody or send a txt (I know that's a bit fancy-dan and all modern)

It's not that bad. Going by government track-record, the software is probably incompetent.

Interesting, what happens if the app states that you have to self isolate - but you don't. I don't have a smartphone, but I assume it's possible via gps to track movement down to a certain resolution ?

If that was possible, would be a nice way to generate a bit of revenue.

I suspect it's the same system they use as when you arrive in the UK from a high risk area.

What they do is ask you nicely.

JB "I don't have a smartphone," is all you had to say. Without one, you aren't in the game.

Stick your test kits and tracing apps up your ass, all you need is a dog
Quote:
In the first stage of the trial, the dogs could sniff out the virus in a person who is asymptomatic, or before the symptoms appear. They detected it at an earlier stage than a PCR test, the most widely used diagnostic tool for the new coronavirus.

++ Indeed, I've toyed with the idea of picking a smartphone up several times, just isn't worth it.

Also received a txt from the government (NHS public health alert) telling me to download the app. Which is nice.

Same here,, the irony of being asked to download a virus associated with a virus was amusing

The major genetic risk factor for severe COVID-19 is inherited from Neanderthals.

He is not in the vaccine business. He has advocated, put his money where his mouth is, primarily with the logistics of getting vaccines and other medical care to the poorest people in the 3rd world. He has earned the respect that you should show.

I thought the lab in Wuhan and then the Chinese Communist Party were responsible.
