Hi everyone.

I have a service called systemd-networkd-wait-online that has never seen to work. It's default timeout is 2 minutes, which is a long time to wait for a service to just timeout.

It's failure to start doesn't appear to have any ill effects.

I have set it to 10 seconds so it fails fast.

It's wanted by network-online.target, so I can't just remove it.

Am I missing something?

I remember having same problems years ago.
I think I switched to dhcpcd for managing my network so the problem was solved.
Hanging the whole system until the timeout is reached is strange (and wrong, unless your pc is for remote logins only). By then you already should have your ttys and/or login manager ready.

You could try to disable it, but some other service might pull it as an depency. If things fail you could always re-enable it.
