I've been using a couple different USB network adapters interchangeably for the WAN and LAN and they work fine. I tried a new one that is enabled after compiling in CONFIG_USB_RTL8152 but it does not work for the WAN, only for the LAN. Rebooting doesn't help. I have two identical ones and the behavior is the same for both:

Any ideas why this is happening? |

Quite frankly, I just don't understand what you want to achieve and what the problem is. It looks a bit like you were trying to convert a soho router into a GSM-enabled soho router, otherwise the distinction between LAN and WAN doesn't really make any sense to me, but in this case it doesn't seem to be a gentoo problem either. |
