It made sufficient money in the opening weekend to justify the continued butchering of classic franchises. Actually, are there any left to be butchered? I'm drawing a blank.
Unfortunately, yes but it isn't living up to expectations. It appears from various reviews and YouTube rants that people going to these films are not Star Wars fans.

If they touch Babylon 5, Farscape, or Airwolf I'll be really upset. Especially after they nuked Doctor Who from orbit.

Same with the Trek movies as far as I can tell.

Ah, Airwolf. Back when I thought being a rotary wing pilot would be the ultimate job. Fancy jets never impressed me, but helicopters were always fascinating. Even if they tried to reboot Airwolf really well, I think I'd pass. But I must confess, I wasn't thinking of that as a franchise.

I've never seen Farscape. And didn't see enough of Babylon 5. I saw some episodes after season one (not sure which), but felt like it was too far along to watch, and I never caught reruns. I did like Delenn. Most of the other characters didn't seem overly compelling, but I'd only watched a few episodes.

As for TV show franchises, I think The Rockford Files would be my untouchable. That cast cannot be replaced. On a tangent, they bastardized Hawaii Five-O so badly that they might as well have called it CSI: Hawaii (OK, I admit to only have seen small amounts of the show, but for good reason).

++

I loved that show. It cannot be remade, it would just feel wrong.

You should be bannished for even giving Google the option. Now it will be ruined.

Got invited to go see it tonight. Said "Nah. I've heard so many spoilers I feel like I've already seen it."

Feeling lazy tonight, so I just got through watching Rogue One. It is so much better in so many ways than Last Jedi.

TOS episode Mirror, Mirror introduced the evil counterparts in a parallel universe. Evil Spock had a mustache and beard.

Also, there was a post on imgur comparing the close similarities in plot between Last and Spaceballs.

Last Jedi was ludicrous.

Last Jedi just tanked in China. So much for the lucrative foreign market. I'm sure heads will roll, the question is who will be the fall guy (because obviously it can't be a girl's fault for failing to, you know, actually run Lucasfilm.)

The Last Jedi brought me back into Star Wars.

I was feeling pretty burnt out on Star Wars. I'm feel good about going to see number 9 and seeing where it goes.

Rogue One was entertaining, but there was too much fan service and the characters weren't likable or relatable.

I'm not sure about this Han Solo moving coming out in May. It's way too soon.
