I am building a new (headless) machine. What is perhaps a bit special with this one is that it has no SWAP file (due to using solid state drives).

From /proc/meminfo:
MemTotal: 2062544 kB

Here comes the problem:
Code:
i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DDEFAULT_CONFIG_FILE=\"/etc/squid/squid.conf\" -I. -I../include -I. -I. -I../include -I../include -I../lib/libTrie/include   -I/usr/include/libxml2  -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wwrite-strings -fhuge-objects -D_REENTRANT -m32 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -march=prescott -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -MT DiskIO/Blocking/BlockingDiskIOModule.o -MD -MP -MF $depbase.Tpo -c -o DiskIO/Blocking/BlockingDiskIOModule.o DiskIO/Blocking/BlockingDiskIOModule.cc &&\
        mv -f $depbase.Tpo $depbase.Po

This is INTEL M-ITX 945GC FSB533 DDR-2 based system....

I would appreciate any ideas getting squid compiled....

A search of squid on https://bugs.gentoo.org/ reveals net-proxy/squid-3.0.13,14 fails to compile, le32 does not name a type, which has the same error message you posted.

Looks like the devs just got this issue fixed in 2.7.6-r1:

https://bugs.gentoo.org/264770

I was just able to get a clean compile and install.
