| Yes. The error message makes plain a problem that was hinted at in your emerge --info, but is easy to miss without a detailed inspection. You have misspelled your optimization setting. Set optimizations with -O2, not -02. That is a capital o, not a numeric zero. |

Oh my gosh, how did I miss that?? I even checked in my /etc/make.conf and the -02 was highlighted in red. >_<
